After two days of finals in shifty 10- 15 knot breezes the North American Championship ended on a high note around the Yacht club pool. Tian and Louie acquitted themselves well in a highly competitive gold fleet. Jasper just missed podium in Silver and Valentine ran up a string of mishaps to finish well in the penultimate race.
Team racing is big here with raising of flags and national anthems played for their prize giving. Our boys put up a good fight but didn’t get off the ground in the teams event though one match was a close.
Lots of trading, goodbye’s speeches, and the arrival of the Bahaman Junkanoo at prize giving made this regatta a memorable one for our sailors. They take home a bucket load of memories and lessons.
