NZIODA takes the safety of our sailors very seriously. This safety procedure checklist tells you everything you need to know about how to prepare your boat to be safe on the water.
It is important that every Optimist sailor is aware of their responsibility towards their own safety at sea, that they understand the safety functions of their Optimist, and make regular checks of their boat to see that it complies with NZIODA safety standards.
It is a requirement that a representative from your club checks over your Optimist and fills in the safety procedure form prior to you attending an NZIODA regatta.
