2027 Toyota New Zealand Optimist National Championships

Measurement at the Optimist Nationals – please read this important documentation regarding measurement at the Toyota Optimist National Championship.

This event is the pinnacle of our Optimist calendar each year. It rotates around various yacht clubs throughout New Zealand and is usually held over the long Easter weekend. In 2027 it will be held at Worser Bay Boating Club in Wellington from 26th to 30th March (Easter).

All three racing fleets are invited to take part in this event. There is a variety of races for our Green Fleet with individual races being celebrated, while our White and Open fleets both sail a trapezoid course, as per IODA events all around the world, and are rewarded for their overall series score.

The first day of the event is for registration and checking that measurement and safety paperwork is in order with sailing taking place on the subsequent four days.
