NZ Team are all go in Gdynia,Poland

The NZIODA European Champs Team arrived safely in Gdynia after a 17-hour journey via Dubai and Warsaw. They nearly missed their train connection, having to run with bazookas and foil bags, and even move between carriages.

Thanks to the help of a few friendly locals and a strong contingent of dads, they made it! The NZL team was one of the first to arrive, despite the Port of Gdynia also hosting an Ironman event.

The team rigged their boats and headed out for a sail on Friday the 17th. The weather has since changed, bringing rain and strong winds. While much of Europe is experiencing a heatwave, the Baltic Sea coast is enjoying more moderate temperatures of between 20°C and 25°C.

The team is in good spirits, with Zephyr’s sister taking on the role of chef at lunch. Everyone is having a great time together, enjoying the European food, culture, and atmosphere.

The Opening Ceremony is tomorrow, and we wish all the young Kiwis a fun, successful regatta.

Go New Zealand! 🇳🇿
