Registrations are now open for the annual NZIODA North Island Opti Clinic which runs from Tuesday 13th to Friday 16th January, 2026.
It’s that time of year again, so don’t miss out. Register today to secure your place.
This residential camp will once again take place at the beautiful Willow Park Christian Camp at Eastern Beach https://www.willowpk.org.nz/ in Auckland. This year it is being run by the eastern Auckland clubs (Glendowie / Howick / Maraetai / Bucklands Beach) in association with NZIODA.
This is the place to be this January as young sailors come together to make friends, have fun, build independence and hone their sailing and racing skills under the guidance of our top NZIODA coaches.
The cost is $720 per sailor which is payable at the time of registration. Unfortunately we have been forced to raise the price of this live-in clinic this year to counter the rising cost of accommodation at Willow park which is under new management. NZIODA is once again very grateful for the continued support from the Optimist Worlds New Zealand Trust (OWNZ) for their generous financial support with this clinic.
All shore-based activities, mealtimes and night supervision will be taken care of by an appointed shore manager and parent volunteers. You can either offer to be part of the action as parent help or drop your young sailor off and pick them up four days later; whatever works best for your family. For more information check out our website: https://optimist.org.nz/nzioda-north-island-clinic-2026/
The closing date for registration is Friday 12th December, 2025. Any entries received after this date will be at the discretion of NZIODA and will incur a LATE PENALTY FEE OF 30% of the registration costs. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide our complementary clinic T-shirts for those who register after this date.
Once registered, we’ll send you all the details in late November.
We can’t wait to see you there!
PS – Need an OWNZ boat to hire for the camp? No problem. Please look at our dedicated web page. https://optimist.org.nz/ownz-trust/
