The Zhik Youth Sail NSW regatta got underway at Toronto, Lake Macquarie, yesterday with light to moderate winds and a slightly cooler day. 58 sailors were ready to battle it out on the water in the optimist open fleet.
At the end of day 1, three of our sailors made it into the top 10 – Annika Wells from Glendowie (3rd, also first girl), Sam Kandziora from Wakatere (8th), and Kester Holmes from Worser Bay/Evan’sBay (10th).
Several sailors got black flagged in race 3 and found themselves further down the score sheet than they’d hoped. Today will be exciting racing – follow results here: https://sailingresults.net/?ID=82094
