After receiving the sailors’ rental Optis on Tuesday afternoon, coaching-under-palms got underway yesterday morning at the Toronto yacht club, alongside a large group of Aussie youngsters in a range of fleets who turned up for a pre-regatta skills clinic.
The bright and sunny morning saw each team train with their coach, followed by two races with the Aussie Optimist sailors – around 50 boats all up.
As temperatures soared and the wind dropped in the afternoon, many sailors were glad to float off the water by 3pm and opted for a swim in a shark proof enclosure in the Lake or a pool to cool off!
