The Warm Up regatta (Pre Worlds) finished on Monday. For the three NZL sailors participating (Matteo Barker, Jake Dickey, Will Fyfe) it was invaluable experience.
The first two days of qualifying were very light winds hardly getting above 7 knots. It was a mixed bag with Yellow flags and Black Flags scattered amongst a lot of learnings on the race course. The Final day was sailed in a 13-20 knot breeze which was nice to get a read in a different condition.
Overall Matteo finished 16th, Jake 39th, and Will 79th out of a fleet of 130 boats.
There is a four day clinic which started today which Nathan Soper and Blake Duncan will join for the final two days. Will be great to have the 5 sailors together with Tiago getting them fully prepared for the start of racing on the 28th.
