A reminder that registration for the NZIODA North Island Opti Clinic closes next Friday 12th December. This four day residential clinic is designed to bring our NZIODA membership together with the goal of lifting everyone’s performance across our 3 Opti fleets from the top of Open fleet, right down to those starting out in Green fleet. Come and have lots of fun while hanging out with your sailing mates this summer holiday!
This clinic provides a great opportunity to get in some epic sailing with our country’s best Opti coaches working together to provide a top level coaching experience. Our sailors are in for an incredible four days of learning how to tune their Optis to get the best out of them, brushing up on big fleet strategy and tactics, and working on boat handling and speed to help you go further and faster this summer. While all of the sailors will be coming together at times, our coaches will also be providing differentiated coaching sessions to cater to our different fleets’ needs.
All shore-based activities, mealtimes and night supervision will be taken care of by a team of parent volunteers. You can either offer to be part of the action as parent help or drop your young sailor off and pick them up four days later. Whatever works best for your family.
When: Tuesday 13th to Friday 16th January, 2026.
Where: Willow Park Christian Camp, Eastern Beach, Auckland
Hosts: East Auckland Clubs
Price: $720.00 per sailor, which includes a generous subsidy from the OWNZ Trust.
The closing date for registration is Friday 12th December, 2025 to allow us time to engage further coaches if required and order your clinic T-shirts. After this time we can not guarantee a place for your sailor. Any entries received after this date will be at the discretion of NZIODA and will incur a LATE PENALTY FEE OF 30% of the registration costs. Unfortunately, sailors who register after this date will not be able to order a complementary clinic T-shirt.
