Expressions of Interest for NZIODA Coaching for the 2024 / 2025

If you would like to be considered for an NZIODA coaching role for the upcoming 2024 / 2025 Optimist season then now is the time to let us know.

NZIODA are seeking Opti coaches to coach at clinics throughout New Zealand including the North and South Island clinics as well as for the following Optimist Teams for 2025 :-

• North American Team – Bermuda, 4 – 11 May 2025
• Euros Team – Cesme Izmir, Turkey, 28 May – 4 June 2025
• Worlds Team – Portoroz, Slovenia, 26 June – 7 July 2025
• Girls Development Team – October 2025, venue TBC
• Junior Boys Development Team – October 2025, venue TBC
• Senior Development Team – October 2025, venue TBC

As a Committee we want to create a pool of coaches that have a variety of skill levels and geographic locations so that we can work with you across this season and beyond. Our aim is to further grow and build the coaching talent New Zealand has while providing a coaching pathway for New Zealand coaches to embrace.

You will be expected to be involved in coaching forums and will need to complete coaching, safety, first aid and rhib certifications to an appropriate level. You will also be expected to be involved in NZIODA clinics as part of the role.  This could be at the North Island, South Island or a Regional Clinic anywhere throughout New Zealand.

The deadline to show your interest is 10 October 2024.

Once all applications have been received and reviewed we aim to notify coaches who have been chosen to attend the NZIODA clinics by mid November and those who will lead an NZIODA team in 2025 by late January 2025.
