Day 4 and Final Wrap Up from Noumea

The final day of racing saw two races completed in the lightest breeze seen all week of 8-10 knots, with a short steep chop rolling in.

The results were not the focal point of this regatta, with the main emphasis from all coaches on learning skills and scenarios in a warm climate and a healthy sized fleet. All sailors have been working on their focus and processes. Their improvements and work ethic has given us some exhilarating sailing to watch.

This regatta is renowned for improving sailing and bailing, with windy and choppy conditions the norm. 69 competitors on the start line challenged start routines, in the sailing haven of St Marie Bay.

We can acknowledge the awesome effort by these sailors, with 7 NZL sailors finishing in the top 10. Congratulations to Isaac Gaites from MBSC for taking out first position in the regatta, a feat not achieved in a long time by a NZL sailor.

We are very proud of all team members and it has been great to be part of this sailing trip with all involved. It has been an awesome event with heaps of learnings, ups and downs, friends made, and plenty to take forward into the 2022-2023 sailing season.
