Just because we’re heading into winter its doesn’t mean we have to hibernate! That’s why we’re really excited to announce that all Optimist sailors are welcome to join the 2021 Auckland Junior Winter Sprint Series (AWSS).
What is the Auckland Junior Winter Sprint Series?
An iconic six series regatta hosted around Auckland. Wakatere BC, Kohimarama YC, Murrays Bay SC and Pt Chevalier SC will play host, in association with NZIODA.
Who can compete?
The regatta series is open to all boats of the Optimist (Green and Open Fleet), P-Class, Starling, Feva and Open Skiff classes that comply with their Class Rules.
When does it begin?
Pt Chev – Saturday 19th June
KYC – Saturday 3rd July – OWNZ Boats available
MBSC – Saturday 31st July
WBC – Saturday 14th August
KYC – Saturday 28th August – OWNZ Boats available
MBSC – Saturday 18th September
The entry fee is $25 for Optimist sailors and payable at the respective club on the day. This fee also includes coaching from our NZIODA Coaches on the day.
The last race in the series will be incorporated into the MBSC Icebreaker in September 2021.
Please be aware that only Optimist competitors who have paid the entry fee and are members of NZIODA will be eligible for inclusion.
