Here it is! The pinnacle of the racing year!
The 2021 Optimist National Champs takes place at the beautiful Maraetai Sailing Club (MSC) in Auckland between 2 to 6 April – over the long Easter weekend and is open to all optimist fleets.
Open and White Fleets from Friday 2 April to Tuesday 6 April.
Green Fleet from Friday 2 April to Monday 5 April.
Registrations will be open shortly and we’ll email you then. FYI, Tuesday 23 March 2021 is your closing date to register, and we’ll be providing you with more information as we get closer to the event.
Spot prizes will be won throughout the weekend, plus trophies for sportsmanship, first-placed south islander and, of course, the Open Event and Ralph Roberts trophies for the Open Championship and National Championship victors respectively.
Spectating? MSC is one of our favourite places to watch the action – a lovely setting with fantastic facilities and wonderful views stretching out over Waiheke Island.
Sailors need to be NZIODA-registered to compete. MSC is the organising authority for the Nationals in collaboration with NZIODA.
