NAMs Race One

Race Day One,

Today was promised that we would have building pressure up to 15 knots with the prevailing thermal breeze.  The first race was delayed due to light patchy winds, and once racing got under way the race was started in a light south west wind much lighter that what had been predicted.  Over the next couple of races after a couple of squalls had passed through the wind eventually started to build and reached to a peak of 15 knots.

Race One

Flight One - Nick 14th, Eliza 34

Flight Two - Michael 10th

Flight Three - Trent 59th

Race one saw some very challenging conditions with some left over chop from and early breeze.  The sailors found this very hard but as the race progressed Nick and Michael started to work their was through the fleet for a couple of good early placings.

Race Two

Flight One - Nick  9th

Flight Two - Eliza 19th

Flight Three - Trent 7th, Michael 9th

Race two saw more steadier breeze with all sailors coming off the line with a clear lane and good speed, which reflected in their results.

Race Three

Flight One - Nick 26th

Flight Two - Trent 16th

Flight Three - Eliza 20th, Michael 28th

Race three saw the best breeze of the day, from the end of race two the sailors were pumped and ready for this challenge, everyone started well with good speed.  Unfortunately the result did not reflect the effort the the sailors put in.

All sailors and the coach were happy with the day and are looking forward to breeze and great sailing tomorrow.

The highlight of our evening was watching our coach play goalie for the coaches soccer game, least we shall say that he is a better sailing coach than a soccer player!!!!  Did you know that they only put you in goal when you are not playing so well in the field.

Catch you tommorrow
